Looking and Feeling

We all know there is a huge difference between looking good and feeling good. It's one thing when someone says to you "Oh hawt damn! You look fine" (cause people talk like that ALL the time), but it's another when you walk out your front door FEELING like a hot tamale. Feeling hot gives you confidence. Having confidence makes you attractive to other people. I don't just mean like, hey let's make out, kind of attraction. I mean that, generally, people gravitate towards people who give off a feeling of confidence in themselves and their abilities. You aren't going to pick the plumber who doesn't really look like he can fix your toilet. You aren't going to ask the guy to dance who is huddled in the corner not making eye contact with anyone (maybe for more reasons than confidence). You aren't going to use the lawyer who thinks he can maybe just reduce the fine. No. You're going to go with the plumber who just walks in and starts fixing the damn toilet. You're going to ask the guy who is smiling and having fun, to dance. You're going to go with the lawyer who convinces you that there is no possible way that he's going to let you pay a cent because he will win the case. And yadda yadda yadda, you get my drift. People like confidence.
I am 1/3 of the way through my "Reasons I'm Awesome" challenge. And you know what? It's making a difference. I feel more confident. A couple of the days I seriously sat at the computer and blinked at it for over an hour while trying to dig for a reason I'm awesome. But everyday I come up with something. Some days I could probably list a couple reasons I'm so great. It's not about bragging or being conceited. It's just plain old good for the soul to give yourself a pat on the back from time to time and know that you are really a good person who does fantastic things who enriches peoples lives.
I feel HOT today. I feel like I contributed to something that I truly care about. I feel like I'm a good person who surrounds herself with other truly good people. I feel like I'm really lucky. I feel like walking on clouds. Today was a great day and I can't wait for what tomorrow may bring!
