So I just came across this post and it made me gag a little. I am a big fan of the Starbucks peppermint white chocolate mocha... guess it will be one indulgence taken off my list.
Did you know that the Starbucks peppermint white chocolate mocha (made with whole milk and added whip) weighs in at 700 calories (22g fat/17g saturated, & 95g sugar) for a venti (large?). You could seriously eat 17.5 candy canes - an entire Christmas tree's worth - for the same amount of calories! Yikes!
A venti eggnog latte (with whole milk) is 630 calories, 30g fat/18g saturated, and 64g sugar - you could scarf down TWO pieces of pumpkin pie for the same amount of damage!
Specialty coffee lovers - fear not! You can still indulge in a yummy caffinated beverage from time to time - just make smarter choices: A grande mocha made with skim milk and no whip is (only) 220cal, 2.5g fat, 32g sugars. Or if you want something a little more festive there is the grande 'skinny' cinnamon dolce latte (skim milk and sugar free flavour shot) weighing in at 130cals, 0g fat, 17g sugars.
wow! I'm trying to stay away from Starbucks anyway these days, it's SO expensive!!!
