Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system. The central nervous system is composed of the brain and spinal cord, and the disease can affect vision, hearing, memory, balance and mobility. MS can be relapsing-remitting (in about 80% of people diagnosed), meaning that symptoms come and go for an uncertain period of time, but usually over time most people diagnosed with MS will have a progressive form of the disease which will accumulate disability.
Did you know...
- MS is the most common progressive and disabling neurological condition in young adults
- Approx 50,000 people in Canada have Multiple Sclerosis
- Average age of clinical onset is 30 – 33 years of age, but the average age of diagnosis is 37 years of age.
- Women are more than three times as likely to develop MS, then men.

It was a super fun event that I would totally participate in again. Not only was the money going to an important cause, it was a fun day dancing around with some wonderful people.
The MS Society often holds fundraising events throughout the year. If you are interested in participating or donating, some upcoming events are:

- Enerflex MS Walk - May 27
- MS Bike Tour - June 9 & 10
