As a SAHM, my job is to make sure my son survives the day and keep the house in check. When I applied to the position, the job description must have been left blank, because I thought it would be a hell of a lot easier than it is. Do I just have crazy high standards that I only hold myself to or am I just scraping by?
I have so many Mum's to compare myself to, that I can hold myself up to to see where I measure up. It seems like everyone else has their poop in a group, but me. How do those Mum's who have more than 2 kids get it all done? How do the working Mum's or the WAHM's balance kids, work and house, let alone adding husbands, friends and other family in there too? How does anyone find that kind that balance? How do the Mum's who own their own business, homeschool their kids, and have their fingers out in the community, survive on a day to day basis? How do they stay sane AND raise wonderfully well adjusted kids? I know these Mum's. I see them operating. I see them pushing through and they make it look almost easy. Being a mom, any kind of mom, is hard work. Very few of us have enough hours in the day or enough arms to juggle all the regular responsibilities and take time for ourselves. Hell, some days I feel like I barely have enough time to put deodarent on, and I only have ONE kid. The age old saying 'the grass is always greener' definately applies to mommyhood. To all you Mummy's who know what you're doing; please share your secrets to success. To all you other Mummy's who, like me, fake it til you make it; a wine night is in order, soon!
Attractive post, really am exciting reading this post on your blog.
