Quick Brag

So the other night I went to Old Navy with a friend. Like most trips to ON I went right to the back to look at kids clothes, bypassing all the cute sweaters and leggings that just don't fit me right. I am barely 5 feet tall, and very 'bottom heavy', yet pretty peitite on top. I truely am an exaggerated pear shape - and being short means that I rarely can find anything that fits right off the rack. Anyways, on this night I decided to take a peek at jeans for myself - I have two pairs right now, but one is a lower raise and my butt hangs out, so I just end up wearing the same pair over and over and over again (when I'm not in yoga pants that is). So I automatically go for my regular: size 16, short, in some sort of 'forgiving' or stretchy denim. I drag my feet back to the change room - because this is always the tortuous part, stuffing myself into some article of clothing and feverently hoping and wishing that it'll look ok - I slip on the jeans and... TOO BIG! Now I know ON is pretty forgiving in it's sizes, they fit on the larger side and I'm totally OK with that... so I'm torn, do I try a size smaller (which I haven't been able to remotely squeeze into for over 2 years), do I buy the bigger pair and maybe they'll shrink a bit, or do I walk away disapointed again to look at my one pair of ratty 7 year old jeans??? I scuffle out of the change room and go grab a size 14... I pull them on AND... TADA! The waist is even too big, but they fit in the bum and thighs - DONE and DONE! I gladly buy them and a fleesey jacket in a size L instead of the XL I'm usually wearing. (Even though I'm smaller on top, most jackets don't fit over my massive hips).
I'm quite proud of myself - I've been in the plus size section for so long now, with no change in size, I was getting disapointed. FINALLY! Yay, me!
